Anchorage for Prefabricated Skids
and Packaged Equipment.

Project-specific seismic anchorage of power skids, modular electrical enclosures, packaged cooling skids, and generator sets to their pads, prepared for the builder or the installing contractor.

Prefabricated electrical skid with its steel base frame bolted to a concrete equipment pad with anchor bolts and plate washers.

What We Cover

From the base frame to the pad.

Skids and enclosures arrive as one heavy piece. The connection to the pad is where the seismic design has to close.

01 · Power Skids
Per Project

Electrical Skids and Enclosures

Prefabricated power skids, modular electrical enclosures, and e-houses anchored to their pads at a named site.

02 · Cooling
Per Project

Packaged Cooling Skids

Coolant distribution and pumping skids and other packaged mechanical equipment on slabs or pads.

03 · Generators
Per Project

Generator Sets

Generator sets and sub-base tanks anchored to their pads, with the reactions provided for the pad design.

Reactions and Interfaces

Anchor reactions for the foundation engineer, and checks of anchors against the pad as drawn.

Scope Boundaries

Clear about what the calculation covers.

Stating the boundary up front keeps the package acceptable to the reviewer and the builder.

Project-Specific

Each package is tied to one site and its seismic parameters. It is not a product-line certification.

Anchorage, Not Operability

Operability of active equipment comes from the manufacturer’s certification. The anchorage design is coordinated with it.

Pad by the EOR

The pad or foundation is designed by the project engineer of record using the reactions we provide.

Stated Assumptions

Weights, center of gravity, and base frame properties are taken from the builder’s documents and listed in the calculations.

Who Does the Work

One licensed engineer, scope to stamp.

Calculations are prepared and stamped by Hamed Hasani, PhD, PE, a California-licensed civil engineer. He previously worked as a research and development engineer at Simpson Strong-Tie, and his doctoral research was in the seismic behavior of structures.

He also brings field experience from public infrastructure construction, which shapes how details are drawn: anchors that can be installed with the rebar and conduit actually in the pad, brace points that exist in the field, and details an inspector can verify.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do you certify a skid design for every project it ships to?

No. We provide project-specific anchorage for a skid or enclosure at a named site. We do not issue product-line certifications that travel with a design to other sites.

Does the anchorage calculation certify the equipment inside the skid?

No. Active equipment that must remain operable relies on the manufacturer’s shake-table (ICC-ES AC156) or experience-data certification. The anchorage design uses the skid weights, center of gravity, and base frame details, and is coordinated with that certification.

Who designs the foundation or pad?

The foundation or pad belongs to the project’s engineer of record. We provide the anchor reactions for that design and check the anchors against the pad as drawn, including edge distance and embedment.

What do you need to start?

Skid general arrangement drawings, weights and center of gravity for the skid as shipped and as operated, base frame details, the site seismic parameters or geotechnical report, and the pad or foundation drawings.
