What We Design

ADUs, conversions, and the structure that carries them.

We design the structural scope of your ADU project end to end — from the footing under a new detached unit to the shear wall that replaces a garage door opening.

01 · New Unit

Detached ADUs

Complete gravity and lateral design for new detached units on slab or raised foundation, coordinated to your site plan and setbacks.

02 · Conversion

Garage Conversions

Structural design for converting an attached or detached garage, including the header and shear wall work needed where the garage door opening is infilled.

03 · Conversion

JADUs

Junior ADU conversions within the existing footprint — new openings, partition changes, and any framing modifications the change of use triggers.

04 · Expansion

Additions & Second Stories

Vertical and horizontal additions, including the load path and lateral upgrades the existing structure needs to carry new area.

05 · Substructure

Foundation & Framing

Footings, slabs, stem walls, floor and roof framing, beams, and posts sized for the actual loads on your project.

06 · Lateral

Shear & Connections

Shear walls, hold-downs, diaphragms, and connection detailing designed per ASCE 7 and detailed for the field.

Code Basis

Designed to current code. PE-stamped.

Designed to the current California Building Code and IBC, with loads and seismic design per ASCE 7. Every drawing set and calculation package is stamped by a licensed California PE — the engineer who designs it is the engineer who stamps it.

Scope

What we provide — and what we don’t.

We provide structural engineering only. Architectural design, Title 24 energy, and MEP are handled by your architect or designer — we coordinate with them. We do not perform general contracting and we do not build the work.
